Digital Alumni Card FAQs

 How do I access my Digital Alumni Card?

Download the official University of Miami mobile app:

1. 1. Go to your phone’s app store and search “UMiami mobile app” to download.
   2. Click the “person” icon in the upper right corner of the app home screen.
   3. On the drop-down list, click “My App Experience: Coral Gables Campus.”
   4. On the “Select Your App Experience” screen, click "Alumni."
   5. Select the “Alumni Card” tile.
   6. Login to the MyU Portal to access your card.

It’s my first time, I don’t know my username and password. What do I do?

Username is your C- Number (UM ID#)

First time login instructions:

1. From the UMiami Mobile app alumni experience, select the alumni card tile or click on: https://portal.alumni.miami.edu/
2. Select “forgotten password” link.
3. Enter the email address where you received this message and click submit.
4. You will receive an email with instructions to set your password (check your spam folder).

Why should I choose my app experience as “Alumni” on the UMiami app?

The alumni app experience was built specifically for alumni. It provides easy access to information about University services and communications, a calendar of events, links to local ’Canes Communities, and many more engagement opportunities.

Where can I use my alumni card?

You can use the digital alumni card at the University of Miami Parking and Transportation office to obtain a ’Cane Card or a parking permit. The digital card can also be used for discounts around campus, at participating ’Cane Biz stores, and for check-in purposes at ’Canes Community, affinity group, and University of Miami Alumni Association events. All data transfers are handled by University staff through a secure and confidential process.

Does the alumni card replace the ’Cane Card?

No, the alumni card is not a substitute for the ’Cane Card, which is the official identification and access card for anyone on campus, and in particular, for use at the Richter Library.
